The Parkview Podcast

Sep 15, 2021

China’s stock market is one of the only major equity indices to have posted negative returns in 2021 – reflecting the impact of political and regulatory headwinds that have thrown cold water on investors’ enthusiasm for its market. In today’s podcast, we are joined by George Magnus.

George is an independent economist and commentator, and Research Associate at the China Centre at Oxford University and at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Prior to this he was the Chief Economist, and then Senior Economic Adviser at UBS Investment Bank. George’s current book, Red Flags: why Xi’s China is in Jeopardy was published in September 2018 by Yale University Press.
